In 1882, the Gilbert family flees Czarist Russia and makes its way to America. After a short time in New York, they realize that the streets of America aren’t actually glistening with gold, and they decide to try their luck out west. Together with a few other families, they set up a small Jewish settlement and learn how to farm and to cope with dangerous weather conditions. Will they manage to fulfill their dream?
